Will Samuell

about me: I’m a sketch artist shaped by a mix of influences — from summiting peaks in the Canadian Rockies to collecting mid-century furniture, vintage clothing, and objects that tell a design story and studying local, national and global governments and policies. These experiences have given me complementary ways of engaging with the world: designing for and learning from both natural and built environments.

Time spent outdoors and in the mountains has taught me patience, adaptability, and respect for the relationship between environment and design. Years of collecting have sharpened my eye for detail, material, and the narratives embedded in form. Over the past year, I’ve pursued continuing education at OCAD University alongside other learning opportunities, translating these experiences into a design practice rooted in observation and material exploration.

At the core of my work is a firm belief that the best ideas connect people to place and each other.
